Am I a Good Candidate?

All cases are reviewed individually, and there are no absolute qualifying criteria. However the ideal candidate will meet the following:

  • Diagnosis of treatment resistant Major Depressive Disorder. Other diagnoses that will be considered include Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Chronic Pain, Fibromyalgia, and various anxiety disorders. Please note that treatment resistant depression is traditionally defined as having failed two or more prior medication trials.
  • Current or past treatment for the diagnosis in the form of medication management, psychotherapy, or any other evidence-based modality.
  • Records of your prior treatment must be received from your provider. We will also accept a treatment history letter sent directly from your provider.

There are no absolute contraindications to IV ketamine treatment, but the treating physicians may determine that you are not an appropriate candidate if you meet the following concerns:

  • History of allergic reaction to ketamine.
  • Lack of prior treatment for the disorder.
  • Lack of written documentation of previous treatment.
  • Current or past substance abuse or dependence.
  • Current use of high doses of benzodiazepines or opioids, due to the sedative properties.
  • Currently pregnant or breast feeding.
