There are no absolute contraindications to IV ketamine treatment, but the treating physicians may determine that you are not an appropriate candidate if you meet the following concerns:
- History of allergic reaction to ketamine.
- Lack of prior treatment for the disorder.
- Lack of written documentation of previous treatment.
- Current or past substance abuse or dependence.
- Current use of high doses of benzodiazepines or opioids, due to the sedative properties.
- Currently pregnant or breast feeding.
